New actor Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke from Silo have joined the cast of Dune 3, according to Deadline's sources, marking the first new casting announcements in months.

Representatives for Legendary chose not to comment. In the upcoming Warner Bros. and Legendary film, the two actors will portray Leto II and Ghanima, twin children of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya), who are born after the events depicted in Frank Herbert's original novel. This movie will be Momoa’s first appearance on the big screen, and he is anticipated to be joined by his father, Jason Momoa, who will portray the resurrected ghola of Duncan Idaho. Brooke, similarly new to the acting scene, has previously appeared in Apple's sci-fi drama Silo and the film The Primrose Railway Children.

Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya are among several cast members expected to reprise their roles for the next installment, although an official confirmation of other returning actors has yet to be made despite production expected to start shortly. Earlier this year, Robert Pattinson was reported by Deadline to be in discussions to take on a villainous role in the upcoming film.

Dune represents Legendary’s wide-ranging, multi-platform science fiction franchise, adapted from Frank Herbert’s Hugo Award-winning novel series. To date, this universe has produced two successful films: Dune: Part One released in 2021 and Dune: Part Two from the previous year, both directed by Denis Villeneuve, earning a combined global box office of $1.12 billion and receiving eight Oscars from 15 nominations, including Best Picture nominations for both films. The latest addition to this universe is the prequel series Dune: Prophecy, set 10,000 years before Paul Atreides' rise, which premiered on Max in November and has been renewed for a second season.

Villeneuve’s anticipated third and concluding film in the Dune series is expected to adapt Herbert’s novel Dune Messiah, which takes place 12 years after Dune and follows Paul Atreides as he grapples with the consequences of his jihad led by the Fremen and his rise as Emperor Muad’Dib. An official title and release date for the forthcoming film have not yet been announced.

Brooke is represented by Gersh and Tales Talent Management. Nexus Point News was the first to report these casting updates.
