Discover this rare resource without needing to mine.

As you advance further into Dune: Awakening, you'll find yourself in need of increasingly obscure and scarce materials. Gone are the simpler times when you could quickly gather plenty of copper and iron to craft everything essential for surviving the desert. Superior gear calls for superior resources, and inevitably, you'll have to obtain diamondine dust.

Since diamondine dust is an industrial byproduct, you won't be mining for it directly. Ironically, this can make obtaining it even trickier because you'll have to know precisely where to look. Below, I'll detail the primary locations to acquire diamondine dust, along with a vendor who sells it—assuming you have enough solaris.

How to get diamondine dust in Dune: Awakening

You can find diamondine dust within containers at landmark points of interest, such as the outpost in Mysa Tarill and the Hand of Khidir in Jabal Eifrit Al-janub. Landmarks appear on your map marked by a mountain icon, though there are only a few of these locations.

The Hand of Khidir in Jabal Eifrit Al-janub, located north of Vermillius Gap, is probably the first you'll gain access to, making it an ideal starting point. However, nearby Mysa Tarill, positioned in the top-left corner of your map past Western Vermillius Gap and next to the Crossroads tradepost—a fast-travel spot—is another valuable region. Although Mysa Tarill is small, you'll definitely want to farm the landmark here, as you'll also discover useful intel.

Just like other outposts, these locations swarm with enemies, so be sure to pack a strong weapon and durable armor. Mysa Tarill is particularly challenging due to its expansive open area and enemy snipers who will attempt to pin you down. Nonetheless, your efforts will be handsomely rewarded. Thoroughly inspect every chest within the outpost, and you're practically guaranteed to find several pieces of diamondine dust.

If you're willing to spend solaris, you can purchase diamondine dust directly from Zoe at the Crossroads tradepost in Mysa Tarill or from weapon merchants located in Arrakeen and Harko Village. Keep in mind, though, that the cost adds up quickly—2,500 solaris for a taxi ride to the faction strongholds, plus an additional 3,500 solaris per unit of diamondine dust—making this method relatively costly.

Diamondine dust, alongside carbide scraps, is mainly utilized in building vehicles, including most components for the scout ornithopter and buggy, making it an essential resource worth collecting early on. Additionally, it's necessary for crafting several gear recipes, notably those from the House, Adept, and Regis weapon sets.
